“ This is the original location so the menu is a bit more limited but equally delicious! It's a small place and always busy so maybe go off peak hours to be sure to get a seat. Counter service was good. I ordered the rib plate with Mac n cheese and baked beans. My hubby ordered the pulled pork plate with same sides. We both agreed the meat was tender and full of nice smoky flavor and finished off with their tasty bbq sauce. The sides were good , the Mac n cheese was more dry than I prefer and the baked beans were good. We were blessed to meet the men who make it all happen - the smoke masters. ”
“ Yelp! I done came to Full Moon to get 2 moon dogs on lunch, with this bootlegged drive thru, Why I had to wait 15 mins? I was chilled. Then, the guy working the drive thru was in intense conversation with one of the other workers, he never looks up to take my card. No identification, name or nothing, he blessed, cause it was gonna be posted right here. To top it off, he talking so much, he didn't look up to place the receipt and my card in my hand? The receipt went flying up 25th street, thank God I was able to catch my card. Note the stars. Thank God the Moon dogs were as stated, Delicious. Y'all already know, I'll be back, just maybe not to this one. This Food still good. ”
“ Although working on a limited menu, Full Moon is still my favorite go-to on campus. When the days are hectic and there are long hours between meals, Full Moon offers diverse flavors with filling and long-lasting food. While the line tends to be long, the employees quickly get everyone through the line with their correct order. I would like to see the napkin, straw, and utensil area kept up a bit more but this is understandable due to the ongoing rush they experience. ”

“ Birmingham is full of great BBQ and Full Moon is high on that list! Love the chow chow, pulled chicken, and half moon cookie. This location does not have smoked wings but those are very tasty. Stoping by for a quick lunch to grab a moon dog is always a good choice. If you get it to go eat quickly as it will get soggy and fall apart pretty quickly or get sauces on the side. ”
“ Full Moon BBQ downtown is walking distance from my home. My family and I have been keto and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE their Chicken and Ribs. No sauce needed. Sometimes I go three and four times a week I like it so much. THEN, I go off my diet for a day or two. I say to myself, "I can have anything I want. What do I really WANT?" I do a bee line to Full Moon for a Jumbo sliced pork end sandwich, fries, riblets and their chocolate chip cookies. I can't help myself, it is my favorite thing of all time especially for lunch. I know this sounds a bit strange for a restaurant that is such a hole in the wall, however, you have to try this place. This is the original location and in my opinion the best. Eat well. ”
“ Full Moon BBQ is one of my favorite barbeque restaurants in Birmingham. I have visited the Hoover and Southside restaurants as well as the 280 restaurant. Their cole slaw is to die for. I have even ordered it to share at parties. I also like their baked beans. When I go, I order the sliced pork plate (inside and out). It comes with two sides, a hamburger bun, their chow chow slaw which is delicious and pickles. When you go, you have to try their full moon cookies Half of the cookie is covered in dark chocolate. Even though I love this place, there are some things I wish would change. Sometimes their pork can be fatty and I wish that the southside location was bigger. It is pretty cramped on the inside. ”
